Project SHARE Scholarship Applications Open February 6

The annual Brownsville Public Utilities Board Project SHARE Scholarship will open on February 6. We are awarding ten $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors whose households have a BPUB utility account for water, wastewater, or electric service.

To be eligible for the Project SHARE Scholarship, applicants must have a BPUB account at their primary residence for at least one year prior to the application deadline. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors and plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States. All majors are welcome to apply.

Seven of the ten 2025 Project SHARE Scholarship recipients gather to celebrate their achievement.

To be considered, applicants must submit a completed and signed BPUB Project SHARE Scholarship Application, a recent BPUB utility bill from their parent or guardian, an Academic Data Verification form signed by their school counselor, and a typed essay of between 500 and 600 words. Essays that do not meet the word count requirement will not be accepted.

The application period begins on Friday, February 6, 2026, and ends on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Submit online at www.bpubscholarship.com. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

BPUB is a community-owned utility dedicated to developing local talent and supporting the next generation of leaders. After selecting scholarship recipients, we send checks directly to students to assist with their educational expenses. This scholarship can help cover tuition, moving expenses, books, laptops, and other education-related costs.
